Julie Avila was born in San Antonio, TX and raised in Corpus Christi, TX. As a young child she was interested and surrounded by music. In middle school she joined the school band and caught the musical bug. She continued to participate in music with her high school marching and concert bands. Although she did not continue on to study music in college, the love of music never left her soul.
Julie studied Elementary Education at the University of Texas at San Antonio. After marrying into the Mariachi family in July 2009, she and her husband moved to Las Vegas in the summer of 2010 where her husband is a Mariachi Director with the Clark County School District. She is currently pursing a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix. She is also a board member of the Hispanic Educators Association of Nevada (H.E.A.N)
Her role with the LVIAMS is to assist students with paving a path through high school into college. She is able to assist students with their studies, as a tutor, and with applying to colleges and universities.
